1999 was the year that saw the first of Westlife’s studio albums released. Unbeknown to anyone, the band would go on to release 9 more in the years following.
The boys’ first album, the self-titled ‘Westlife’ contained early hits including ‘Swear It Again’ and the unforgettable ‘Flying Without Wings’.
The band’s debut album spent an incredible 74 weeks inside the top 100 of the UK album chart and features the singles: ‘Swear It Again’, ‘If I Let You Go’, ‘Flying Without Wings’, ‘I Have A Dream’ and ‘Seasons In The Sun’, each of these peaked at No. 1 in the official UK singles chart. This amazing run set the UK record for the most consecutive No. 1 singles taken from a debut album, a record which still remains intact today!

Westlife have just flown out to South Aftrica to film the music video for their lead single from their upcoming Greatest Hits album. It’s a really exciting time for the boys as this is the first single since moving to RCA.
The name of the first single is being kept under wraps for now, but it is going to be a really fitting lead into the Greatest Hits. The boys are also going to be doing a very special photo shoot when they are over there.
The pictures are going to be featured in a special fan Box Set of their Greatest Hits, the first 500 of which will be signed by the boys. The box set is also going to include an amazing retrospective photobook showing their 14 years together + some specially selected fan pictures.
Between now and 31st October we want you to vote for your favourite ever Westlife single. Vote by using the form on the right as many times as you like. Everyone who votes will be entered into a prize draw to win a copy of the album.
The wait is finally over… Westlife are excited to reveal the album artwork and track listing for their forthcoming Greatest Hits album! The album features 4 news tracks including the brand new single ‘Lighthouse’.
